Anyone with an interest in journalism and connecting with their communities online may participate in this course. No previous experience is required.
Cardiff University's Centre for Community Journalism, in conjunction with the FutureLearn initiative, organizes this five-week, massive open online course to help reporters gain practical skills and insight into hyperlocal journalism.
The course will cover topics like the core principles of journalism and current developments in hyper-local reporting in the digital environment. It will also address more practical topics, such as setting up a community website, identifying and building an audience, creating content and managing an online community.
The course begins on April 14. Registration is free.
