Health reporting trip to Ethiopia accepting applications

New media journalists are encouraged to apply for an all-expense-paid, two-week reporting trip to Ethiopia in June.
Johns Hopkins University’s International Reporting Project will conduct the reporting trip from June 14-27 to investigate the topic of newborn health in Ethiopia. Participants will travel across the country and explore the medical, institutional and social challenges that surround prenatal and postnatal care in Ethiopia.
The trip will cover roundtrip airfare, visa fees, hotel costs, meals and local transportation costs.
Interested applicants must be citizens of France, Germany, India, Malawi, Nigeria, Norway, Senegal, the United Kingdom or the United States in order to be considered. They must also work with new media. Bloggers, influential social media practitioners, and freelance contributors may also apply.
Candidates must complete an application and an essay of at least 800 words describing the types of stories they will pursue during the trip to be considered.
The deadline to apply is April 21.
